Why the headline price is misleading

A budget Lake Travis pontoon rents for $400–$800/day for the boat alone. That number is what most groups see and compare against Premier's $200/hr starting rate (which sounds higher because it's hourly). What the pontoon sticker price doesn't include: the captain (you drive, or you add $200–$300/day for one), the sound system (you bring your own speaker or rent one for $75–$200), fuel ($60–$120 of it for a 4-hour day), ice ($30–$60 to fill the coolers you also have to bring), floats and lily pads ($50–$200 depending on what you buy or rent), pro audio if you want music that actually fills the boat, life jackets in every size, and the on-board restroom most pontoons don't have.
